About me

Since I was little, I have been fascinated by the idea that the smallest and simplest structures come together to form the complex world around me. Although I have always loved science, I was initially drawn to the topics of ecology and evolution during my undergraduate career at Boston College, where I studied biology with a concentration in physiology and organismal biology. Since then, I have become interested in understanding organismal adaptations along environmental gradients at all levels of biological organization.

For my undergraduate research at Boston College in the Folker Lab, I studied the role of the LINC Complex in the Drosophila blood-brain barrier, and its contribution to nuclear positioning in subperineurial glial cells. I am currently a PhD student at the University of Notre Dame in the Torres-Dowdall Lab, where I am interested in investigating adaptations to seasonality along environmental gradients.
